Workshop Mechanic - Truck Bay

About the roleReporting to the Team Leader for Truck Bay, you’ll be based in our busy Perth workshop working with Cummins’ high-horse power (HHP) and On-Highway engines. You will primarily be working on ISX and mid-range engines and working with our valued customers across a range of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Put safety first for every task, every day

  • Servicing/Repair of the heavy-duty Cummins ISX engines

  • Diagnose, fault find and repair our customers engines

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical diagnostics

  • Perform preventative maintenance

  • Complete all Cummins and customer paperwork

  • Participate in skills and product training

  • Always be on the lookout for ways to do things better

About you

Key to your success in this role will be your excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously and within the team backed by your passion for all things mechanical and knowledge of diesel engines. You will also possess:

  • Heavy Vehicle Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualifications is preferred but will look at Light Automotive

  • Ideally have 2 to 3 years of experience but 1-year post apprenticeship is also welcomed

  • Experience carrying out electrical diagnostics and repairs on different product types with minimal supervision

  • Relevant experience working on HHP diesel engines in on-highway, trucks, buses, earthmoving, heavy plant, power generation, mining, rail or marine

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Willingness to work night shifts and weekend work as required

  • A friendly approach to your work, developing good relationships with our customers and your team

  • Be a natural at solving problems
