Varied role in the workshop and field across a variety of engines

Permanent waged role – mixture of day and night shifts rotating every 6 weeksReporting to the Team Leader for Truck Bay, the Workshop Mechanic role will be based in our busy Perth workshop working with Cummins’ high-horse power (HHP), On-Highway and Power Generation products. You will primary be providing troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair expertise on heavy diesel engines from supporting our varied and valued customer base.
Put safety first for every task, every day
Servicing the heavy-duty Cummins ISX engine
Diagnose, fault find and repair our customers engines
Conduct mechanical and electrical diagnostics
Perform preventative maintenance
Complete all Cummins and customer paperwork
Participate in skills and product training
Always be on the lookout for ways to do things better
Key to your success in this role will be your excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously and within the team backed by your passion for all things mechanical and knowledge of diesel engines. You will also possess:
Heavy Vehicle Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualifications
Ideally have 2 to 3 years of experience as a Mechanic but 1-year post apprenticeship is also welcomed
Experience carrying out diagnostics on different product types with minimal supervision
Relevant experience working on HHP diesel engines in on-highway, trucks, buses, earthmoving, heavy plant, power generation, mining, rail or marine
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Willingness to work night shifts and weekend work
A friendly approach to your work, developing good relationships with our customers and your team
